These are the latest pricing indications for Micro1's recruitment services, and the headline finding is that there are no longer any to publish.
Micro1 used to sell three things to hiring teams: a pool of vetted contract engineers, an AI interviewer (GPT-Vetting, later branded Zara), and project-based development work through MicroLab. As of our last check in July 2026, none of those are marketed as products you can buy. Micro1 has repositioned as an AI data lab, and its pricing pages are gone.
That matters because most of the Micro1 pricing you will find on comparison sites is now stale: it describes products that are no longer sold.

Two of the three things Micro1 used to sell to hiring teams, finding suitable engineers and vetting them with AI, are exactly what an AI recruiter does in-house. What happened to Micro1's recruiting products?
Micro1 now describes itself as "the data research company to accelerate AI in the real world." Its homepage sells three products, and none of them are recruiting tools:
- Realm: reinforcement learning environments that mirror real-world scenarios to generate human data for agentic tasks
- Cortex: a contextual evaluation platform for improving AI agent performance in production
- Robotics: high-fidelity real-world robotics data for training embodied systems
The old recruiting URLs tell the story cleanly. micro1.ai/pricing, micro1.ai/zara and micro1.ai/zara/pricing all now redirect (301) to the homepage. micro1.ai/hire redirects to /talent and micro1.ai/gpt-vetting redirects to /ai-interviewer, but both of those land on the same data-lab homepage rather than a product page. There is no public price list left anywhere on the site, and no self-serve signup for an AI interviewer.
Zara itself still exists, but its job changed. Micro1 now uses Zara internally to interview and certify the domain experts who apply to work on its own AI training projects. It is infrastructure for Micro1's business, not software you license for yours.
What does Micro1 cost now?
Micro1 publishes no pricing. Every route into the company is a "Get in touch" form, and its data-engine page is aimed squarely at AI labs buying frontier evaluations and RL environments, which is bespoke, negotiated, enterprise-scale work. If you are a hiring team, there is no number for you because there is no product for you.
Be careful with the prices still floating around. The figures below are historical. We list them so you recognise them as out of date, not so you can budget against them:
- Talent hiring: engineers advertised at an average of around $38 per hour, billed off the rate shown on the candidate's profile
- GPT-Vetting: from $149 per month, with the first 10 interviews free
- Zara: later restructured to roughly $89 per month for 20 interviews (Early) and $399 per month for 100 interviews (Growth)
- MicroLab: from $20,000, running past $60,000 for complex projects
Directory listings on Capterra, SoftwareAdvice and similar sites still surface the Zara tiers. Those pages are cached against URLs that now 301 to the homepage. Treat any Micro1 recruiting price you find in 2026 as unverifiable.
When should I use Micro1?
For nearly every hiring team, the honest answer is now: you can't, and you should look elsewhere. Micro1 is worth contacting in two narrow cases:
- You are an AI lab or a company training models, and you need expert human data, RL environments, agent evaluations, or robotics data. This is Micro1's actual business now and it is where their attention is.
- You are a domain expert looking for work rather than looking to hire. Micro1's expert network is live and recruiting: you apply, take a Zara interview, get onboarded and start earning on AI training projects. Micro1 also runs a referral program advertising up to $3,000 per successful referral.
If you landed here because you wanted vetted engineers on contract, AI interviewing software, or a team to build something, Micro1 no longer serves any of those needs.
What are alternatives to Micro1?
The right alternative depends on which Micro1 you were shopping for.
- If you wanted vetted contract engineers Toptal and Arc.dev both run screened talent networks with a similar promise, at a similar or higher price point. Upwork is the cheaper, less curated version.
- If you wanted project-based development (the MicroLab use case) A development agency is the direct substitute, and it is worth getting two or three quotes, since $20,000 was Micro1's floor rather than a market rate.
