Full-Time Equivalant (FTE)

The full-time equivalent (FTE) is a unit that is used to measure the size of an organization or the amount of work done within it. FTEs are often used to measure the number of employees in an organization, but they can also be used to measure the amount of work being done. For example, if an organization has 10 employees who each work 40 hours per week, the organization would have an FTE of 100.

Full-time equivalent (FTE) is a measure of the amount of time that a person spends working in a given period. It is often used to measure the amount of time someone spends working in a week, month, or year.

FTE can be calculated by dividing the total number of hours worked in a week by the number of hours in a full-time work week. For example, if someone works 30 hours in a week, their FTE would be 30 hours divided by 40 hours, or 0.75.

FTE can also be calculated by dividing the total number of hours worked in a month by the number of hours in a full-time work month. For example, if someone works 120 hours in a month, their FTE would be 120 hours divided by 160 hours, or 0.75.

FTE can also be calculated by dividing the total number of hours worked in a year by the number of hours in a full-time work year. For example, if someone works 1,560 hours in a year, their FTE would be 1,560 hours divided by 2,080 hours, or 0.75.
